Updates
The highlights on 3d-playground.org — newest first.
last updated:
-
Categories right in the navigation: The sections — Bathroom, Garden, Gifts, Toys, Spare parts — and the course are now one click away up top, without a detour through search. On narrow screens everything folds neatly into the menu.
-
OpenSCAD code, highlighted and explained: In the course and in the posts, the OpenSCAD code is now syntax-highlighted. Hover over a command like
cubeortranslate(on a phone: tap it) and a short note explains what it does. -
Tom, our mascot: a ginger cat that occasionally saunters across the home page — unobtrusive, silent, and only if your system doesn't ask for reduced motion.
-
OpenSCAD beginner course: five lessons with a rotatable 3D model and a small exercise, from your first cube to a printable part of your own. Lesson 1 free for everyone, a club benefit from lesson 2 on. To the course.
-
CARECOM.united — our free club: one membership across all CARECOM sites. As a member you can download a whole post as a .scad bundle (all the OpenSCAD files at once) — free and no strings attached. More on the club page.
-
Print posts or save them as PDF: cleanly, from the toolbar in each post, without the site navigation. For everyone.
-
All projects carried over: including the complete OpenSCAD source to rebuild them — long listings are collapsed to save space while reading and shown in full for printing.
-
Searchable and sorted by area: Basics, OpenSCAD, Household, Kitchen, Bathroom, Garden, Gifts, Toys and Spare parts, plus a search across all posts.
-
Rebuilt as a dedicated app: 3d-playground.org now runs on its own Blazor application (.NET 10) instead of the old website builder — bilingual (switchable in the top right), faster, cleanly readable for search engines and hosted on Azure.
